Young Kenzie Ruston has been waiting through the first six weeks of the 2009 Summer Shootout Series for that one race to get her over the bad-luck hump and headed for victory lane. On Tuesday, July 21st, that race finally made it towards the Oklahoman, as Ruston was able to put recent bad luck behind her and lead some laps in the Legends Car Semi-Pro Division feature at Lowe's Motor Speedway. Had it not been for a puddle on the track from rain earlier in the night, Ruston may have found herself in LMS victory lane, but a second-place finish was still a result that the young racer could use for motivation headed into the stretch run of the Shootout.

" I got out to a good lead and then somebody ran down in a puddle and got water up in the track in turns three and four. I just couldn't get around the water and the car messed up. (Jeff) Bolen got around me because of that. But it's okay. It's our best finish of the Shootout, so I'm happy with it. The car was real good down in turns one and two, but in three and four there was water and I guess Bolen got through it better than I did."

Ruston will be back out to get one spot better in the eighth round of the Summer Shootout on Tuesday, July 28th.
