Stroupe and Dillner Battle Tough at Peach State
Podium Sweep Falls Mere Laps Short for BDI Racing Teammates

Some nights, the two cars of BDI Racing have everything going their way and it's tough to keep Nick Stroupe and Meghan Dillner from meeting their individual and the team's collective goals in a Pro Challenge Series event. With Dillner on pace for a Rookie of the Year season and Stroupe one of the top contenders for the Pro Challenge National Championship in 2008, the BDI Racing drivers have been on top of their games so far this season.

It appeared that more of the same was in store for Stroupe and Dillner in the Pro Challenge South Region event at Peach State Speedway on July 3rd early on. Stroupe earned the pole starting position and took off for a strong lead in the opening laps of the 35-lap feature. Before long, however, the handling went away on the Dandelion Inn / Denny's / Little Italy Pizzeria #51, allowing fellow National Championship contender Clint King by for the victory.

“I was giving it all I had from the drop of the green flag, but during those runs I was smoking the right-rear tire because the car was so loose,” said Stroupe.  “I was doing everything I could to stay in front of him, but once he got by me I had nothing.”

The runner-up finish for Stroupe was the 12-year-old's second-straight second-place finish.

As darkness settled in at Peach State, Meghan Dillner (#161) made her move to the front.

“I drove as hard as I could all night long,” added Stroupe. “This is my favorite track and it's where I got my first win, so I really wanted to win here tonight. I just didn't have enough to get it done tonight.

Before celebrating her 15th birthday on Sunday, Dillner was in line for her best-career Pro Challenge point's finish, a third, at Peach State on Thursday when a carburetor issue on the final green-white-checkered restart dropped her in the final finishing order to ninth.

“I was really looking forward to finishing behind Clint and Nick,” said Dillner.  “Of course I'm disappointed, but you've got to take the bad with the good.  That was the most fun I've had in a racecar until that happened.”

Both Stroupe and Dillner will be out to better their luck when the Pro Challenge North Region returns to Franklin County Speedway on Saturday, July 12 th . Both BDI Racing drivers have entered events at Franklin County twice earlier this season, with both events getting rained out.
