BDI Team & Zach Stroupe Head to "The OC" With High Hopes
Teen Is Looking to Build On PASS National Series Success

For the majority of Zach Stroupe's first full season in a Super Late Model, points don't matter. Team owner Bob Dillner has selected a variety of the top events in the country in 2008 to help develop his 15-year-old driver. The only time the philosophy changes is when the BDI Racing team competes in the four races that make up the PASS National Super Late Model Series. This Saturday is round two of the series at Orange County Speedway in Rougemont, NC.

A month ago, Stroupe and the team tuned up for this event with during a regular PASS South event at “The OC.” A top ten finish was just laps away for Zach Stroupe when another competitor knocked him out the event. Instead of looking at the experience as a waste, Stroupe and the BDI team are looking forward to heading back to the track with their Vesuivo's Restaurant #51 Chevrolet Impala SS with the notes they have collected.

His first race at OCS combined with a recent test at the track will leave Stroupe with plenty of on-track knowledge to help him challenge for the victory in the $10,000 to win race. In fact, the test was exactly what Stroupe and his crew chief Bond Suss needed to regain focus on that track in particular.

Zach is hoping to bring his BDI Racing Chevy Impala SS back to victory lane in Orange County

“I'm really looking forward to heading back to Orange County,” said Stroupe. “ Our test went really well last week.  We never put on new tires and we were fast.  Bond and the guys took a lot of time to work on the car in the shop and then Bond worked with me on some points as far as driving style for Orange County specifically while we were there. After our first race there and then testing there too, I have a better feel for the track and the team and I know what to expect with the feel of the car.”

All of these factors will contribute to advancing Stroupe and the BDI team toward their goal of another tip to victory lane. Stroupe was victorious at Motor Mile Speedway in Virginia a couple months ago to become the youngest winner ever in PASS history. Pit strategy will be an important part of the plan to pull the #51 Vesuivo's Restaurant of Roxboro, NC/ MAC Tools / Hamke Racecars chassis into victory lane.

“I'm really lucky to have such great guys volunteering to be on our pit crew,” thanked Stroupe. “This will be the first time I am doing a live pit stop style race.  The BDI Racing crew is working hard to make a good stop and some of them proved that by helping get Kyle Fowler off of pit road first during a GAS race a couple weeks ago at Peachstate (Speedway). I know there are going to be a lot of good teams up at this national race, but I know we can win this one if circumstances go our way.”

Qualifying for the Southern Sizzler 200-lap PASS National Super Late Model event at Orange County Speedway will be at 5pm on Saturday, July 19 th . The green flag is slated to drop on the event at 9pm.
