BDI Racing Tabs Josh Williams for 2008 Summer Shootout
Williams Eyeing Pro Division Success In Lowe's Motor Speedway Series

In recent seasons, BDI Racing, owned by NASCAR on SPEED broadcaster Bob Dillner, has become one of the top-notch short track development teams in the Southeast. Much of the success that BDI Racing enjoys today has come from the Summer Shootout Series at Lowe's Motor Speedway (NC). BDI house drivers Zach Stroupe, Nick Stroupe and Meghan Dillner all cut their teeth in the tough Legends and Bandolero ranks in the Summer Shootout and have gone on to be successful in Super Late Models and the Pro Challenge Series.

Now, BDI Racing is pleased to announced today that it has added another driver to its talented roster for the 2008 edition of the LMS Summer Shootout. Fourteen-year-old Josh Williams will be competing in a BDI Racing entry in the Legends Car Pro Division for the entire 10-week schedule of the televised Summer Shootout.

“I'm looking forward to this opportunity with BDI Racing,” said Williams, a Florida resident. “Hopefully we can keep the car under us and survive every week of the Summer Shootout. It's a tough series to compete in, and the Pro Division is the most competitive division out there. It was tough in the Semi-Pro division, but now it will be even tougher in the Pro division; I'm looking forward to that challenge, though.”

With BDI Racing's house drivers all graduating to other forms of short track racing, a void was left in the organizations' Summer Shootout plans for the entire 2008 series. Nick Stroupe will compete in the Legends Young Lions division in the first week of the Shootout in the Texas Roadhouse of Concord Mills NC, #51, but then will re-focus on his National Championship battle in the Pro Challenge Series.

That allowed the team to partner with Williams for a full assault on the Summer Shootout Pro Division Championship.

“We are really excited about picking up Josh,” said Bob Dillner, owner of BDI Racing. “We wanted somebody with talent and a great personality and we have found that with Josh. He will represent our supporters well and is a great fit for our driver development program. If we can put a good car under him, he will be successful.”

“He is just 14, and he'll be racing against guys a lot older and more experienced than him in the Pro Division, but there's not a doubt in any of our minds that he can get the job done in the Summer Shootout,” said Matt Kentfield, Director of Racing Operations for BDI Racing. “Josh reminds me a lot of our house drivers, Zach, Nick and Meghan. All of them are extremely friendly and outgoing outside the car, but once you strap that helmet on, they are all fierce competitors. That's what we really like about Josh, and we're excited to see what he can do this season.”

“This is the first time in 10 years of racing that I've had the opportunity to do something like this and be a part of an organization like BDI Racing,” added Williams. “I hope to do well in their eyes, and I know that we'll be able to work together to have some success. I get along really well with everyone there, and I'm excited about representing the team's sponsors during the Summer Shootout.”

Primary sponsorship for Williams' BDI Racing entry will be announced soon.

The 10-week Summer Shootout series begins Tuesday, June 10 th , at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina. Each event is broadcast later in the year on SPEED.

Marketing opportunities for the BDI Racing team and its driver development program in Super Late Models, Pro Challenge, Legends Cars and Bandoleros are still available for the 2008 season.
