Kyle Plott Takes First-Ever Legends Car Win in Atlanta
Plott Comes from the Back to Take Road Course Victory

Ask anyone who has ever strapped into a Legends Car and they'll admit that those are perhaps the toughest-to-drive racing machines out there today. Legends Cars themselves are a handful to wheel around the track, but driving them against a hungry pack of aggressive drivers makes Legends racing one of the most daunting tasks a racer can take on.

Kyle Plott has been using Legends Car racing to hone his driving skills as he moves up the racing ladder, gaining more experience and seat time every time out on the track. But, that victory had eluded him going into the Winter Series event at Atlanta Motor Speedway's infield road course Saturday afternoon.

With some hard work both in the car and in the pits, Plott was able to score that first victory Saturday at Atlanta in dramatic fasion, coming all the way from the rear of the field to take the lead with three laps remaining in the tough road course event.

"It was awesome," said Plott. "I've won in Pro Challenge and everything like that, but these Legends Cars are the hardest things I've ever driven. It's awesome to win this one, especially at the road course."

"In qualifying we did okay, but we only got three laps in before the left-rear trailing arm broke. We didn't really get much time on the track until my dad was able to fix it in time for the race.

"I started seventh and I went down in the corner and I got hit by the person behind me. I did a 360 and saved it and kept going, but somebody came over the top of my front tires, knocking the toe in. After that, I was just driving it to the front like crazy."

Plott steadily worked his way through the field all the way to the top of the running order.

"I fell back to 18th or something like that and came all the way back up to 1st. I think I was passing like three cars a lap. I took the lead with about three laps to go and just kept going to the checkered flag.

"Plus it was a good day too because my brother (Kason) got second in his Bandolero race at Atlanta too. He led the whole race until the last lap. He knocked the toe out on a cone, letting Brady get underneath him, but he did a great job.:

Kyle Plott's next event will be back in the Legends Car on January 3rd at Watermelon Capital Speedway in Cordele, Georgia.
