Plott Nearly Wins Two Features in One Night at Watermelon Capital

Kyle Plott is a racer. That's why even when there are no points and no big winners' purses on the line, Plott will be there regardless ready to take a checkered flag.

On, Saturday, December 6th, take a checkered flag is exactly what the young Georgia native was able to do. Plott took his #4 FRS Contracting Chevy to victory lane during the Pro Challenge Winter Series event at Watermelon Capital Speedway in Cordele, GA. The win came in a non-points event, but was still meaningful nonetheless.

"It felt great being able to win this winter race," said Plott. "We started on the outside pole and the polesitter spun out early, so I took the lead from there and led every lap until the end.

"It was great being able to get some more seat time at Cordele so that I don't get rusty before the start of next season. Any time you can get a win it means a lot, so hopefully we'll be able to get a few more before next season."

Plott came within inches of scoring two wins in one night at Watermelon Capital, as well. Plott

battled with Chase Elliott, son of multiple-time NASCAR Cup Champion Bill Elliott, trading the lead several times throughout the Legends Car feature event. Plott had a run on Elliott late in the race, only to be chopped off, leaving Plott second in the event.

"We had a good run with Chase there, but second was still good for us. I think I'm getting better in the Legends Car and they're a lot of fun to drive.

Plott now focuses his attention to another Legends Car event, this coming weekend at the road course at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
