BDI Racing Development Drivers "Going for It" at Pole Night
Josh Williams and Chad Finchum Among the Hottest Drivers In the Country

Before some of the greatest racecar drivers in the world strap into their NASCAR Sprint Cup machines on October 9 th at Lowe's Motor Speedway, groups of young racers will hit LMS with hopes of one day racing along side their Cup heroes in events like Sunday's Bank of America 500. SPEED television broadcaster Bob Dillner is doing everything he can to ensure that some of those young drivers competing at LMS's Sprint Cup Pole Night will one day have that shot.

Dillner's BDI Racing team will field a two-car effort during the Pole Night Legends Car events at frontstretch quarter-mile track at LMS before Sprint Cup qualifying. Fifteen-year-old Josh Williams of Port Charlotte, FL will pilot the #51 Buffalo Wild Wings at Afton Ridge in Concord, NC machine for BDI Racing in the Legends Pro feature, while 14-year-old Chad Finchum will wheel the #19 BDI Racing/A-1 Finchum Heating and Cooling ride in the Legends Semi-Pro event.

“Josh and Chad are both outstanding racers and are probably two of the most prolific young racers in the whole country,” said Dillner. “Chad is the Bandolero National Champion and Josh has been tearing up the Florida Legends circuits all Summer long. I've seen a lot of drivers with talent in the short track ranks, including in the Legends and Bandolero world, but these two kids have something special and they're both well on their way to being stars in this sport for a long time to come.”

BDI Racing got the #51 Buffalo Wild Wings "Rat Rod" ready to run at LMS' Pole Night, but Mother Nature intervened.

BDI Racing first tabbed Josh Williams to pilot the team's house Legends Car during the 2008 Summer Shootout Series at Lowe's Motor Speedway. Competing as the youngest racer in the Pro Division, highly regarded as the division with the most talented and decorated drivers, Williams ran consistently inside the top-10 and threatened for several victories during the 10-week summer series in the #40-cent Buffalo Wild Wings car. Williams finished the Shootout 12 th in points with one top-five finish in the toughest division in all the Shootout.

Since the Shootout, Williams has been winning in the Legends ranks in his home state of Florida . With three victories and no finishes outside the podium in his last half-dozen starts, Williams is on top of his game in the Legends world and is also blossoming into a threat for victory every week in the Fastruck Series. Williams now hopes to extend his strong record in 2008 with a victory in the Legends Pro event at Lowe's.

“I'm ready for our Pole Night run,” said Williams. “I know BDI Racing has prepared an awesome car for me and I know I've got the talent to bring their #51 to victory lane. My goal is to go out there, have a good time and hopefully be in position to win, then head out to Buffalo Wild Wings just a couple miles down the road from the track and have some awesome wings. Heck, it's Thursday night, which means 50-cent boneless wings, so hopefully we'll be able to celebrate a victory with some good food and some good times.”

Chad Finchum will be making his first start under the BDI Racing banner at Lowe's Motor Speedway. Finchum is coming off one of the most successful summer seasons of any racer in the country. The 14-year-old made 46 starts in the competitive Bandolero Young Gun division – winning an astonishing 31 races, winning the Lowe's Motor Speedway Winter Heat and Summer Shootout Championships, as well as the 2008 Bandolero Young Gun National Championship.

BDI Racing tabbed Finchum to pilot a Pro Challenge Series ride for several events at the end of the 2008 season as a teammate to Meghan Dillner, Bob Dillner's 15-year-old daughter. Finchum joins the team that led the Pro Challenge National Point standings for much of the season and currently sits fifth in points and second in Rookie of the Year standings with three events remaining. Finchum will make his Pro Challenge Debut in the BDI Racing MAC Tools Chevy Silverado #151 at Lonesome Pine Raceway in Coeburn, VA this Saturday, October 11th , as a teammate to Dillner.

But first things first for Finchum, as he enters the Pole Night Legends Semi-Pro feature a perfect four-for-four in his Legends Car starts in 2008.

“We've got a pretty good record in our Legends races so far this year, so hopefully we'll be able to make it five straight at Pole Night,” said Finchum. “The competition is going to be really tough just like it always is at Lowe's, but as long as we get some good luck and our car's as fast as it has been, we'll have a real good shot at winning. We won a Legends Rookie race at Lowe's earlier this summer, so we've got the right set-up, but so much of this Legends racing is based on luck and where you draw for your starting position. As long as things go our way, I don't see any reason why we can't put this car into victory lane in front of all the NASCAR fans at Pole Night.”

Legends Car events for NASCAR Sprint Cup Pole Night at Lowe's Motor Speedway begin at 4:40pm on Thursday, October 9th.

Based in Concord , North Carolina , BDI Racing is a full-service short track development team that offers a “total package” approach to building strong racers both on the track and off.
